Following the influx of Spring magic into Highguard, the Reikos region saw huge change. In the year 380YE the Eternal Llofir transformed much of our once-happy, tame grasslands into an impolite detonation of jungle. Though pushed back into the Spring realm, the land remains a riot of fertility and life. Disgusting. House Mournwolf has finally come to terms with the revision of the land. We are opening a tropical waterpark.

We have hired the entire waterpark exclusively, indoor and outdoor; no general public will be coming in. We have the waterpark for two hours, then changing for a Proper Party afterwards, in Alton Towers’ huge Stateroom.

Present and discreet will be Alton Tower’s life guards, but we also have a qualified NHS doctor in team on site and several first aiders. One team member will be out of the water at all times.

We have a drinks reception (booze on us) after we get out of the pool, followed by a Hog Roast —slow cooked shoulder of pork with sea salt rub and warm apple sauce— or a vegan version (pulled jackfruit with spiced BBQ glaze) or a BBQ chicken option!

Spring magic wrecked us! Fortunately, a combined operation by the Wolves of War and the Towerjacks ultimately destroyed Llofir's Garden and drove the eternal's forces back into the Spring realm. However, it’s left a chunk of Reikos very fertile and plush. Lots of deep forests, way too many mushrooms. Not exactly tropical, but our Exarch went to Sumaah recently — tropical place, very nice. Now we’ve got a Sumaah-themed waterpark.

We have booked for around 230 people; so bring your friends! We have full use of the waterpark to ourselves. We’ve also taken the liberty of sorting a full drinks reception after we’ve splashed — with noms.

You’re Coming to a Party

This is not a dry larp — although you won’t be served alcohol until the second half of the night, after we get out of the pool and change for the evening. We anticipate it being noisy (we are inviting bards) and we have a lot of people. There will be places to sit down, but it will be a stimulating environment.

Bathhouses —-we just—- love them. So we made another. A BIG ONE. This is set in Highguard but all nations are warmly welcome to attend. We have two parts to the night, the splashing about part, and the party part. The first is in the waterpark, the second in a huge stateroom (with some tables and chairs available).

Want to crash overnight in the area?

A bunch of us are booking travel lodges and nearby hotels (Alton Towers also has a range of hotels!) so we can hang out OOC the next day and go into the theme park. You’re welcome to join us. We’ll set a meeting point for the Saturday after a late breakfast.

    Please be careful not to bind when swimming.

    No nudity anywhere. If you're swimming then bathing outfits suitable for a public swimming pool must be worn in the waterpark. Alton Towers policy: Click Me

    You are welcome to wear outdoor clothing in the Waterpark if you are not getting into the water, however outdoor footwear is not permitted so we would recommend bringing a pair of flip flops with you.

    Bathing outfits do not have to be specifically IC – modern materials are fine. See the guide above, we've got examples for different nations :D

  • We are just waiting back from PD about plonking this near a Night Regio -- nearby but not actually on site. That way we can have an IC reason for people having easy access to Twilight Masquerade before they appear, the ritual which lets you look like a normal unlineaged human for a time. For the comfort of our lineaged guests, of course, who might not want horns trapped on low lagoon roofs or bumped on slides.

    If you think your character would never take this ritual, but you as the player want it (because you don't want the pain of being lineaged in a pool) feel free to say the doormen requested it. How rude! Damn Highborn bigots.

  • You're very welcome to take one of the three types of coloured rubber wristbands we will provide, to designate "male character he/him", "female character she/her" or "non-binary character they/them". These are not mandatory; they are to help people who get misgendered or anyone who feels they'd benefit from having a clear visual show of what gender people should roleplay them being.

    We will be asking everyone to remember to always use gender neutral terms in our live briefing ("sibling" or "cousin" rather than brother or sister) but this is an added aid for anyone who wants it. We'll bring more than enough.

  • The Waterpark is based on the ground floor of Splash Landings Hotel with lift access from all floors.

    Access to the Waterpark is through the main changing rooms, which has a fully accessible shower area and toilet facilities. After our pool period we will be going to the Conference Centre If you have specific questions please contact me and I will contact Alton Towers.

    Assistance and Guide Dogs

    Assistance/guide dogs are not allowed in the Waterpark.

  • No photographs will be allowed during the in-game spaces while the game is timed-in. Outside of game spaces you may take selfies or pictures with you and your friends so long as you have the explicit permission of everyone in that picture. (No taking a picture with people in the background, for example.)

  • So do we! So are we! Come along. We’ll send out an email closer to the time with specifics, as we have a group (or several groups, even) which will meet up the next day for an Empire-related social. With roller coasters and candy floss.

  • Yes!

    Whatever the weather outside, the 50,000 sq ft domed roof ensures that it's always tropical inside. The temperatures for the pools are all: "29 Degrees Outside: 28-29 Degrees Hot tubs: 34-35 Degrees Have a splashtastic time!" Even in the middle of January frosts people enjoy the outdoors park as it's heated - let alone the indoors one! We've hired both exclusively, so enjoy it all.
